Fwd: Colorado Police Catch Car Chase Suspect Tied to Amber Alert





Colorado police have caught the suspect who stole an SUV from a gas station early Wednesday and led them on a high-speed pursuit.

The man smashed into a car at an intersection as a cruiser closed in, and he gave chase on foot. He was nabbed as he tried unsuccessfully to scale a fence.

The incident began when a 2008 Red Ford Edge went missing from a gas station in Longmont, north of Denver, and police believed a 4-year-old boy who was inside the SUV, reported NBC affiliate KUSA. An Amber Alert was issued.

The suspect, who was seen wearing a black and yellow jacket, ditched the car and apparently carjacked another vehicle. The two people inside that car had gotten out.

During the dramatic chase, the suspect smashed into at least three cars. He ended up carjacking another vehicle, throwing the driver on the ground before the pursuit finally ended after 8 a.m. local time (10 a.m. ET).

The boy in the first SUV is reporte dly safe.
